VIII INTERNATIONAL FORUM “OPEN INNOVATIONS” STARTS IN MOSCOW

Moscow, October, 21, 2019 — the VIII international forum on innovative development “Open Innovations” opened in Technopark Skolkovo. The topic of the Forum is “Digital Nation. Transference to an Intellectual Economy.”

The opening ceremony of the Forum was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Maxim Akimov, Chairman of the Board of Skolkovo Foundation Victor Vekselberg, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Mikhail Kotyukov, Chairman of the Skolkovo Foundation Arkady Dvorkovich.

Maxim Akimov, the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia: “As a representative of the Forum Organization Committee, I wish to us all to find answers worthy of our children to very difficult questions. Nobody has easy answers to them, neither the businesses, nor the State. How do we combine the ever increasing in volume flows of data, customization and privacy? How do we marry the all-encompassing control and the safety of everyday human life? How can automation and the flow of new competencies be combined with the new model of the labor market? These are hard questions, yet I believe that year by year the degree of our proximity to the answers to them grows greater.”

Victor Vekselberg, the Chairman of the Board of Skolkovo Foundation: “The “Open Innovations” forum breaks new records every year. Right now over 11 thousand participants have been registered. Among them are the representatives of over 90 various countries. This indicates that our desires to always be open and to maintain the cooperation formats with our partners all over the world are working. We are trusted, worked with, and that is very important. We have made the forum platform into a technological innovative hub for joint operations under global economy.”

The three-day program of “Open Innovations” includes over 150 sessions with over 600 speakers – science, business, and state representatives. The Forum exhibition display features over 160 high-tech solutions, created by Russian startups with the support of development institutes.
