Dr. Ida Pavlichenko is a technology development fellow at the Harvard Wyss Institute. Ida harnesses the principles of bio-inspired engineering to achieve a paradigm shift in the materials, design, and function of customizable implants for ear and hearing disorders.

In 2018, she has co-founded PionEar Technologies, Inc. – a medical device company for ear and hearing disorders. PionEar has received the Grand Prize at the Harvard President’s Innovation Challenge and the Gold Prize at the MassChallenge Boston. PionEar’s ear tube technology, co-invented by Dr. Pavlichenko, has also won the Collegiate Innovators Competition by the USPTO.

Ida is the winner of the MIT Technology Review’s 35 Innovators Under 35 Award in 2019.

Previously, she was a postdoc at the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, where she was spearheading collaborative efforts with academia, industry, government, and start-ups. Ida earned her PhD from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in 2014, and an MSc from the Lomonosov Moscow State University in 2010.
